Used Car Hummer H3 SUV

Used Car Hummer H3 SUVUsed Car Hummer H3 SUV

The Hummer H3 SUV is a vehicle from General Motors' Hummer division, introduced in 2006. The H3 is the smallest of the three Hummer models, and though the H3 concept car was a pickup truck, and currently introduced as a conventional SUV, with a future model close to the concept being planned to be launched in the third quarter of 2008. Its platform is based on the GMT355 which underpins the Chevrolet Colorado and GMC Canyon pickup trucks.

The Hummer H3 is a midsize SUV that comes standard with a 220-horsepower, 3.5-liter inline five-cylinder engine and four-wheel drive. This inline-5 is the same engine found in General Motors' midsize pickups. While it's adequate for the pickups and general use around town, it is often overwhelmed by this SUV's nearly 2.5 tons of curb weight. In our Hummer H3 road test, we recorded a 0-60-mph time of 11 seconds. Fuel economy isn't all that great either. For 2008, the Alpha version of the H3 debuted, sporting a 300-hp 5.3-liter V8 that provided more respectable performance. With the Alpha, the 0-60 dash was reduced to 8.8 seconds.

More impressive than the powertrain is the vehicle's ability to handle off-road terrain. Allowed to play in the dirt, the smallest Hummer is basically unstoppable. With 9.1 inches of ground clearance, loads of wheel travel, oversized all-terrain tires and standard skid plates, the H3 can pretty much go wherever you want without taking damage. For optimum performance, add the optional Off-Road Suspension Package to get a shorter-geared transfer case for better hill climbing and descending, a locking rear differential, 33-inch off-road tires and firmer suspension tuning.

Selecting a Hummer H3 is pretty straightforward, as there are only two styles: base and Alpha. Standard equipment highlights on the base H3 include dual-zone air-conditioning, a six-speaker CD stereo, cruise control and power windows, mirrors and locks. The aforementioned off-road package, leather upholstery, power-adjustable and heated front seats, side curtain airbags and an MP3-compatible stereo are optional. The Alpha adds the V8 engine as well as leather seating, upgraded audio, heated seats and more chrome trim, including the wheels.

New And Used Car Daewoo Nubira

New And Used Car Daewoo NubiraNew And Used Car Daewoo Nubira

The Daewoo Nubira is a compact car produced by South Korean automaker Daewoo Motors from 1997 to 2002. The first generation car, model J100, was released to the market in 1997 as Daewoo Nubira, and it was sold until 1999. The car takes its name from the Korean word Nubira, which means "to go everywhere". It was developed as a replacement for the GM T platform-based Daewoo Nexia and designed by Italian I.DE.A Institute. Both sedan and station wagon models were available.

Falling squarely in the middle of Daewoo's three-car lineup, the Nubira was a relative large front-drive subcompact. Somewhat bigger and more powerful than the entry-level Lanos, it was smaller than the "flagship" Leganza sedan. Rivals included the Ford Focus, Honda Civic, Hyundai Elantra, Mazda Protege, Toyota Echo, and Chevrolet Prizm.

Daewoo Nubira is cheap, economical and reliable medium sized car pitched into a very competitive market sector - the Ford Mondeo, Vauxhall Vectra class - which it is slightly undersized for. However, it is holding its own on the strength of the Daewoo customer care and back-up package, and fairly keen pricing.

Initially, Nubiras came in three body styles: four-door sedan, four-door hatchback, and four-door station wagon. The hatchback would last only a single season. Sole engine was a 2.0-liter, dual-overhead-cam four-cylinder, mated to either a manual gearbox or optional automatic transmission. The Nubira CDX was unusual for its class, with standard antilock braking (optional in the SX).
