The Peugeot 307 is a family car produced by the French Peugeot manufacturer since 2001. The Peugeot 307 had the difficult task of replacing the best selling Peugeot of all time the 306. It was awarded the European Car of the Year title for 2002, and continues in production as of 2008 despite the launch of the 308 in 2007.
The 307s makes use of a reworked 306 platform, that can also be found on the Citroen Xsara as well as the 1991 Citroen ZX. However, the car is larger than the 306 in every direction.
The Peugeot 307 is a highly respected compact yet roomy hatch in normal three/five door body styles plus estate and SW, the latter able to take seven seats and with a huge glass roof.
Not surprisingly the 307 was an instant hit winning numerous accolades including the International Car of the Year award in 2001. Hot on the heels of the hatchback model came the 307 estate, the seven-seater 307 SW and the 307CC four-seater Coupe-Cabriolet with a fully automatic solid retractable hood.
As you would expect of Peugeot the engine is quiet and refined returning 35.8 mpg on a combined cycle with C02 emissions of 188 g/km. The 2.0 litre engine offers more than adequate power although you do have to work the 5-speed gearbox to maintain optimum performance.
